Amazon is seeking an innovative and high-judgement Principal Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join the Amazon Privacy Service team. The Principal TPM

Analytical Compliance will own three key areas: 1) act as the subject matter expert for how Amazon systems and personnel analyze personal data to deliver customer experience, 2) lead end-to-end technical design that ensure analytical applications and operations deliver compliance outcomes, and 3) drive implementation of technical tasks while monitoring dependencies and reporting key risks, issues, and blockers. The TPM will contribute to the strategic direction for Amazon's privacy practices while building the compliance approach for individual regulations such as the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and more. The TPM will frame and participate in high judgment debates and decision making across senior business, technology, legal, and public policy leaders. Key job responsibilities include partnering with senior engineers to map the origination, augmentation, destinations, access, and use of user data across distributed systems, leading high level and detailed technical design with senior engineers to create compliant and efficient architecture for enforcing privacy compliance in analytical systems and operations, overseeing scoping and funding of technical resources required to deliver the technical design across teams, and driving implementation of technical tasks, monitoring key dependencies and reporting risks/issues/blockers. The role reports to the Director for Regulation Tech and Assurance under Amazon Privacy Services. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader with a strong background in technical program management/software engineering and a proven track record for delivering technical innovation in ambiguous regulatory environments. Basic qualifications include 7+ years of technical product or program management experience, 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience, 5+ years of software development experience, and experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience, experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
