Accounting Specialist
Addison Group is partnering with a well-established company to identify a hands-on Accounting Specialist to join their team in St. Paul, MN. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys contributing across both AP and AR functions while gaining exposure to the general ledger. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of transactional accounting, strong Excel proficiency, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Experience in the construction industry and familiarity with ERP systems such as Sage 300 and Acumatica is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities: Manage all phases of accounts payable and receivable, including high-volume invoice processing (400+ weekly), PO matching, and billing Process customer invoicing, cash applications, credit card payments, and collections follow-up Assist with lien waiver processing and chargeback management Perform weekly WIP review and circulate reports internally Reconcile bank accounts, trial balances, and subsidiary ledgers monthly Prepare adjusting journal entries (AJEs) for review Support month-end and year-end close processes and financial packet preparation Maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting efforts Assist with internal and external audits as needed Ensure compliance with sales & use tax, vendor requirements (W9/COI), and company accounting procedures Collaborate with project managers on collections and reporting Qualifications: Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Bachelor's degree or relevant certifications a plus 3+ years of hands-on AP/AR experience Familiarity with Sage 300, Acumatica, or similar ERP software is strongly preferred Understanding of job costing, sales & use tax, and general ledger processes Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills Able to work independently and take initiative in a deadline-driven environment Prior experience in construction or a related industry is highly valued Compensation & Benefits: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Short-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) Basic Life and AD&D Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Generous PTO and paid holidays Onsite parking available Why Work with Addison Finance & Accounting?
