Senior Technical Manager, CMOS & Advanced Packaging Integration

Tempe, AZ (relocation may be available)

In this role you will advance Natcast's device and packaging integration initiatives at the PPF, driving technical strategy while managing teams focused on seamlessly bridging CMOS technology with advanced packaging solutions.

Every day you will guide complex integration programs spanning both front-end CMOS and back-end packaging technologies, leading development teams that advance America's capabilities in heterogeneous semiconductor integration.

To thrive in this role you must combine deep CMOS device knowledge with advanced packaging expertise, demonstrating the ability to both understand complex device physics and drive innovative packaging solutions while mentoring teams toward breakthrough innovations.

Natcast stands at the forefront of semiconductor research and engineering, serving as a crucial hub for innovation in the U.S. semiconductor ecosystem. Through the National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), Natcast drives technological advancement through collaborative partnerships, cutting-edge facilities, and a commitment to maintaining U.S. leadership in semiconductor technology.

This position plays a crucial role in bridging front-end and back-end technologies at the PPF. The role requires sophisticated understanding of both CMOS device physics and advanced packaging, combined with strong leadership abilities to drive innovation across the complete integration spectrum.

Responsibilities: •Lead and mentor cross-functional integration teams •Drive technical strategy spanning CMOS and packaging integration •Develop comprehensive process integration flows •Guide device-package co-optimization efforts •Direct FEOL-to-BEOL transition strategies •Manage complex heterogeneous integration challenges •Lead advanced interconnect development •Oversee device-level reliability initiatives •Drive innovation in integration methodologies •Coordinate with member companies on technical programs •Establish holistic integration standards

Required Skills and Experience: •Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field •15+ years semiconductor Research and Manufacturing experience •Deep expertise in CMOS device physics and processing •Strong background in advanced packaging technologies •Experience leading technical teams •Track record of integration innovation •Excellence in stakeholder management •Advanced problem-solving capabilities •Demonstrated leadership success •Strong publication/patent history

Preferred Skills and Experience: •Experience with heterogeneous integration •Background in process integration •Knowledge of emerging packaging technologies •Team management experience •Expertise spanning FEOL to BEOL •Industry consortium experience
