Patent Prosecution And Litigation Technical Advisor Job Overview: A prestigious law firm located in Charleston, SC, is seeking a highly skilled Technical Advisor to join its dynamic Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group. The role is focused on supporting the firm’s Electrical Engineering & Software team, specializing in patent prosecution and litigation in emerging technologies. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on cutting-edge matters in the field of intellectual property. Duties: Assist in preparing and filing patent applications and supporting patent litigation matters Conduct in-depth technical analysis related to patents in electrical engineering, software, and telecommunications Review patent portfolios and provide technical insights to attorneys Collaborate with attorneys to prepare arguments, briefs, and technical reports Participate in client meetings and provide technical support Research and analyze the latest developments in wireless communications, including standards like 5G and 6G (experience in this area is desirable but not required) Support preparation for legal proceedings, including depositions and trial preparation Requirements: Strong understanding of electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational and analytical abilities Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to quickly learn complex technical concepts Familiarity with wireless communication technologies (such as 5G, 6G, and 3GPP standards) is a plus but not mandatory Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field Skills: Strong technical writing and analytical skills Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders Excellent research and problem-solving abilities Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel Experience with patent databases and research tools is beneficial Job Location: Charleston, SC Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance and 401(k) plan Paid Days Off (PDO)/Vacation Opportunity for a discretionary performance-based bonus Company info
