The Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Richmond at the Pastoral Center is seeking a
Parish Fundraising and Stewardship Officer . The Parish Fundraising and Stewardship Officer is a dynamic fundraising professional who works closely with parishes on offertory support, planned giving, donor stewardship, and capital campaigns. This role aims to maximize the philanthropic potential of parishes to enhance parish life and community impact. Serving across multiple regions within the Diocese of Richmond (excluding Northern Virginia), this position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in mission work, collaborating with pastors, volunteers, and donors while developing leadership skills. Responsibilities include: Managing all aspects of capital campaign fundraising and operations at the parish level, including feasibility studies, pre-planning, solicitation, and post-campaign communications. Advising parishes on increasing annual offertory and year-round stewardship efforts, including donor recognition and education about the impact of donations. Implementing planned giving programs to educate parishioners on supporting their parishes through planned gifts and their long-term impact. Assisting with major gift opportunities for immediate or future needs, including donor research and solicitation in partnership with the pastor. Supporting parishes in successful participation in the Annual Diocesan Appeal. Traveling to parishes to provide on-site leadership and support for philanthropic initiatives. Attending regional and national conferences to stay informed on fundraising best practices. Performing other fundraising duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in professional fund development; experience with capital campaigns preferred. Fluency in English; Spanish language skills preferred. Excellent organizational skills, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge is a plus. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including storytelling and public speaking. Ability to travel frequently, work full-time, and be available during evenings and weekends. Experience or appreciation of the Catholic Church is preferred. Working Conditions:
