A law firm in Huntington, WV, is seeking a seasoned litigation attorney with a strong background in insurance defense and a demonstrated ability to manage diverse caseloads. Responsibilities
Represent clients in insurance defense cases, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, mediations, and trials. Develop and execute effective legal strategies tailored to individual cases. Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other case-related documents. Advise and collaborate with clients, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the legal process. Maintain excellent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary. Support or spearhead efforts to expand the firm’s litigation practice, particularly in insurance defense. Foster and manage client relationships, including contributing to the firm’s business development initiatives. Qualifications and Requirements
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in insurance defense litigation, with exposure to other areas of civil litigation a plus. Education:
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school. Licensure:
Active membership and good standing with the West Virginia State Bar. Portable Business:
For partner-level candidates: A demonstrated ability to bring or develop a book of business is required. For associate-level candidates: A strong professional network and willingness to contribute to client development efforts are preferred.
