BCG Attorney Search
A law firm seeks an enthusiastic and driven Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its growing practice in Miami. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in Florida workers' compensation defense. While prior experience is not required, candidates should be able to handle cases independently and manage a range of tasks within their assigned cases. The position also involves significant discovery work, including taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, preparing motions, and responding to written discovery. Trial experience is a bonus, but not a requirement.
Duties
Independently manage assigned workers' compensation cases from start to finish. Handle various discovery matters, including taking depositions, interviewing witnesses, and preparing responses to written discovery. Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents related to case progression. Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure case deadlines are met. Assist in trial preparation and, where applicable, represent clients in hearings or court proceedings. Stay current on Florida workers' compensation laws and related legal developments. Requirements
Must be a current member in good standing with the Florida Bar. A demonstrated interest in workers' compensation defense law, with the ability to work independently. Experience in handling general discovery matters, including depositions, witness interviews, and preparing legal motions. Trial experience is a plus, but not required. Strong communication, organizational, and legal research skills. Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications
Active membership with the Florida Bar in good standing. Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines. Proficient in legal research and case management. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
