We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with hands-on experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related technologies to support the development, testing, and maintenance of mission-critical mainframe applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and experience working in Agile environments.
This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and performance of batch processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
Write, test, and debug COBOL programs and reports following established coding standards.
Design, develop, and maintain DB2 databases to support application data requirements.
Create and execute test plans to validate application functionality and quality.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical solution design.
Collaborate with business analysts and project managers to enhance system functionality and reporting.
Troubleshoot and resolve application issues efficiently.
Participate in daily standups and Agile development processes.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in mainframe application development and support. Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, TCO, IBM DFSORT, Endevor, SD/SF, Savrs, NDM, and File Manager. Experience in writing and debugging COBOL programs and managing batch jobs. Strong understanding of database design and maintenance using DB2. Ability to create and execute comprehensive test plans. Strong analytical, technical, and communication skills. Experience in the banking domain and familiarity with Hogan systems is a plus. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience. Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CA7, Easytrieve, MQ, and ServiceNow. Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative development environments.
