EEOC Summary As a Trial Attorney (Civil Rights) at the GS-0905-13, you will be part of the Legal Unit Miami District, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If selected, you will have responsibilities for preparing and litigating employment discrimination cases under all federal statutes enforced by the EEOC.

Duties

Review charge files and recommend litigation, file petitions for compliance, seek injunctive relief. File motions for compliance with court orders, conduct discovery in federal court. Prepare briefs, conduct trials, and provide legal advice to agency personnel. Present motions, responses, and oral arguments in court. Prosecute cases adhering to EEOC policies and judicial precedents. Requirements Conditions of employment include:

U.S. Citizenship or National Male born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service Suitable for Federal employment (background check) Active BAR Membership in Good Standing (must be maintained) This is in the Excepted Service Qualifications For GS-13: A law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from an ABA-accredited law school, active BAR membership, and two years of legal experience (at least one at GS-12 level). Additional legal education can substitute experience as specified. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements within 30 days of the vacancy closing date.

Experience includes paid, unpaid, volunteer, and service work, which contribute to relevant skills and knowledge.

Education: Meets basic education requirements listed under Qualifications.
