Control Engineer - Building Automation
Join our Madison, WI team as a Control Engineer for Building Automation, where you will lead the design and implementation of state-of-the-art integrated control systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Engineer and program integrated systems including access control, surveillance, and HMI/PLC controls. Develop user-friendly HMI interfaces with Wonderware software. Design robust system and network architectures to support seamless system operations. Create detailed hardware and panel schematics, and system layouts using advanced design tools. Lead innovation projects by integrating diverse systems into cohesive, efficient solutions. Generate comprehensive technical specifications and documentation for project continuity and support. Provide end-to-end technical support to customers, ensuring high satisfaction and system reliability. Minimum Position Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field. Proficient in 2D AutoCAD or equivalent design software for drafting and system design. Minimum of 2 years experience in HMI and PLC programming. Ability to pass stringent government security background checks. Flexibility to engage in minimal overnight weekday travel as required by project needs. Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience with HMI/SCADA environments, particularly Wonderware InTouch/ArchestrA. Advanced proficiency in PLC programming - Omron, Modicon Momentum, or Allen Bradley 5000 systems. Strong foundational knowledge in electrical control system design, with proficient AutoCAD skills. Familiarity with video, intercom, and access control systems. Experience in software development, preferably in VB.NET or C#, is advantageous. Skills:
Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Capability to work effectively in team-oriented environments as well as independently. Detail-oriented with a keen eye for system flaws and potential improvements. Robust project management skills, able to handle multiple deadlines and high-pressure situations.
