Project Manager - Natural Gas Pipelines

Position Overview: Jacob Managing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Project Manager
to lead natural gas infrastructure projects across the Gulf Coast region (primarily TX, LA, and MS). This role will focus on overseeing major capital projects-ranging over $100M-from early engineering and design phases through permitting, construction, and final execution. The successful candidate will bring strong experience in natural gas pipeline systems and compression facilities, including regulatory knowledge of FERC processes. This is a critical backfill role due to a prior contractor transitioning to another opportunity. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating within a matrixed organization and possess the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver complex, multi-year projects on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end project execution, managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality of natural gas pipeline and compressor station projects. Drive projects through early development, FERC filing, design, permitting, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) phases. Coordinate across internal teams including engineering, environmental & regulatory, supply chain, and operations. Manage regulatory filings with FERC and other governing bodies, ensuring all permitting requirements are met. Ensure alignment of project objectives with business goals and communicate project status to leadership. Build and maintain high-performing project teams and hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables. Act as the main point of contact for all project-related activities and ensure issues are identified and resolved proactively.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 years of experience in project management within the natural gas or energy infrastructure sector. Proven experience with
FERC filings and permitting
is
required . Strong background in
natural gas pipeline and compression facility
projects; gas storage experience a plus. Experience managing capital projects exceeding $100M and spanning multiple years. Bachelor's degree in
Mechanical or Civil Engineering
(or related field) preferred. Previous experience in an
owner/operator
organization is strongly preferred. Knowledge of underground pipeline systems, compressor stations, and gas transmission. Comfortable working in a
matrixed organization , with excellent coordination and stakeholder engagement skills. Effective communicator with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and drive to achieve results. PMP certification is a plus.
