We are currently looking for a Director/ Sr. Director, Projects for our Houston, TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The position of Director/Sr. Director, Projects will report to the VP Engineering and Construction and will be responsible for leading the development and execution of BWP's major growth expansion projects. The determination of Director or Sr. Director will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
Responsibilities include - Provides leadership and sets an example of BWP's Core Values for others to follow; provides strategic guidance and leadership to project managers and project execution teams in delivering major projects on time and on budget; collaborates and interfaces with all BWP stakeholder departments in planning and executing projects (i.e., Regulatory, Supply Chain, Operations, Project Controls, Commercial, Environmental, Construction and Land); participates in meetings with external stakeholders in forums such as public meetings, agency meetings and other community engagements; prepares, conducts and documents project team meetings; ensures quality control of all work product; assists project team in managing contract matters, contract conformance and settlement of disputes; follows rigorous project controls systems by developing, maintaining and communicating project schedules and taking ownership of approved project budgets and forecasts; and prepares and delivers presentations to BWP Senior Management.
Manages large and complex projects valued at >$500MM.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 20 years of experience in the natural gas industry with a proven track record of successfully leading major FERC pipeline and compressor station projects. Minimum 5 years of experience in the direct supervision of multi-disciplined engineering and project management professionals. Strong technical knowledge of Industry Standards (FERC, ASME, ANSI, API,). Strong focus on leading Safety, Compliance and Employee Well-Being. Excellent communicator with strong team-based focus on collaboration and inclusion of others. Demonstrates high-level of self-motivation, creativity and strategic decision making. PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
10 years of experience in the direct supervision of multi-disciplined engineering and project management professionals. Proven track record of successfully leading major pipeline and compressor station projects from project development stage through project execution and in-service. For each major project, provide the planned vs. actual cost and other key deliverable metrics. REQUIRED EDUCATION:
B.S. Engineering Discipline PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Licensed Professional Engineer
