Client: VITA - State of Virginia
Location: Richmond, VA (Hybrid) Need candidate within 2 hours drivable distance
Rate: $85-90/hr C2C
Interview Mode: Both Web Cam and In-Person Interview

Hybrid work environment to include: 4 days ON SITE - 1 day of telework a week

Project Management Center of Excellence (PM COE) - High Risk Project Manager
Perform program assurance and advisory tasks to manage a Strategic Portfolio of high visible Commonwealth projects.
Support the development of VITA's PM COE, including the mission charter and needs assessment for agency alignment
Develop high-risk project training materials
Support the development of risk management reporting and dashboard tools
Manage agency high-risk projects as assigned
Provide high-risk project mentoring and risk management as assigned
ABOUT THE ROLE
VITA is seeking an IT project manager to manage the planning, implementation, and close-out of various projects aimed at improving local government practices.
VITA is initiating a series of projects to manage and reduce systemic risk with local government entities and is seeking an IT project manager to manage these projects. This individual will be responsible for managing the planning, implementation, and close-out of various projects aimed at improving local government practices.
Key Responsibilities
Managing multiple high-risk projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
Manage day-to-day project activities, including task assignments, progress tracking, budget tracking, and issue resolution
Monitor project progress, anticipate and identify potential risks or delays; assist in implementing mitigation strategies as needed
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across state and local government and third-party suppliers to ensure project alignment and successful delivery
