Hybrid work environment to include: 4 days ON SITE - 1 day of telework a week at Springs Drive Richmond, VA 23225 An active PMP cert is required. Various Commonwealth of Virginia agency locations in and around the Richmond area only. Expenses to be reimbursed. Job Description: Project Management Center of Excellence (PM COE) High Risk Project Manager Perform program assurance and advisory tasks to manage a Strategic Portfolio of high visible Commonwealth projects. Support development of VITA's PM COE including mission charter and needs assessment for agency alignment Develop high risk project training materials Support development of risk management reporting and dashboard tools Manage agency high risk projects as assigned Provide high risk project mentoring and risk management as assigned
About the Role:
Client is seeking an IT project manager to manage the planning, implementation, and close out of various projects aimed at improving local government practices. Client is initiating a series of projects to manage and reduce systemic risk with local government entities and is seeking an IT project manager to manage these projects. This individual will be responsible for managing the planning, implementation, and close out of various projects aimed at improving local government practices. Key Responsibilities:
Managing multiple high-risk projects throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring on time and on budget delivery Manage day-to-day project activities, including task assignments, progress tracking, budget tracking and issue resolution Monitor project progress, anticipate and identify potential risks or delays; assist in implementing mitigation strategies as needed Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across state and local government and third-party suppliers to ensure project alignment and successful delivery. Required/Desired Skills:
Sr Exp with Portfolio management Project Management of projects over $10 million dollars Experience with Microsoft Project or other commercial project management tool Active PMP cert required (pls upload in Vector to be considered)
