Marriage License Offered at Franklin County Auditor
The Franklin County Auditor's office issues marriage licenses and certified copies of Marriage Certificates. Licenses have a three-day lapse before they are valid and must be used within 60 days. The marriage license allows individuals to get married, while a marriage certificate indicates that a legal marriage has been performed. Marriage licenses cost $59, payable by cash or money order/cashier’s check. Credit/debit cards are accepted, but there is a $2 convenience fee. Marriage applications must be completed online. If you do not have access to a computer or smartphone, please contact the office to make an appointment to use the marriage kiosk. Once the online application is completed, a window will pop up with a red box providing an application request number—please retain this number. Follow the directions to purchase the license through the mail or by calling the office to make an appointment to purchase your license in person. Both applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants who are 17 years of age must be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian who can provide consent. Applicants under the age of 17 must contact the Benton-Franklin Counties Juvenile Justice Center to apply for a waiver. Languages
