Somervell County is seeking a detail-oriented and fiscally minded professional to serve as our next
County Auditor . This pivotal role oversees the preparation and administration of accounting records, audits departmental accounts, and manages the county budget in alignment with Commissioners’ Court directives. As a trusted advisor to county leadership, the Auditor provides critical financial insights that guide strategic decision-making and long-term planning. Prepares and administers accounting records for all county funds. Audits the records and accounts of the various county departments. Administers the county budget as approved by the Commissioners’ Court. Advises Commissioners’ Court concerning financial conditions and the County’s financial position as it relates and affects the Court in the decision-making process. Forecasts financial data for budgetary formulation purposes. Minimum Qualifications
At least two years of relevant experience in auditing and accounting Knowledge of laws, regulations pertaining to public business A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a business-related degree is preferred Physical Demands
Minimal – Walking, climbing, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, overhead reaching, and manual hand tool use. Moderate – Driving, standing, kneeling/squatting, pushing/pulling, and bending/stooping. Extensive – Sitting, and keyboarding. Lifting/Carrying – 11 to 25 lbs. Environmental Factors
