GFA supports national workers serving as the hands and feet of Christ in four main ways. Sponsoring national missionaries to minister to people's needs, sponsoring children, investing in community development and helping families in need of care or during disasters.
Job Summary: We're seeking a Back End Developer Apprentice to join our Digital team. As a Back End Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining the server-side logic, database integration, and API connectivity for our web applications. Your primary focus will be on building scalable, efficient, and reliable back-end systems that support our company's web applications. Please note that this is a ministry position with scheduled times for prayer and one day a week dedicated to personal growth and intentional time with the Lord.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient back-end systems using languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, or Node.js. API Development: Develop RESTful APIs to interact with front-end applications, ensuring seamless data exchange and integration. Database Management: Design, implement, and manage databases to store and retrieve data efficiently, using relational databases (e.g., MySQL) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB). Server-Side Logic: Implement server-side logic to handle requests, authenticate users, authorize access, and perform complex computations. Testing and Debugging: Write unit tests, integration tests, and debug code to ensure the back-end systems are stable, secure, and functioning as expected. Collaboration: Work closely with digital team, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of back-end systems with front-end applications. Code Review: Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality code, adherence to coding standards, and best practices. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to back-end systems, including performance optimization, security vulnerabilities, and errors. Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, Ruby, PHP, Node.js) Knowledge of database concepts and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL) or NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) Familiarity with API design principles and RESTful APIs Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Attend scheduled times of prayer and prayer meetings Participate in GFA community events
