Nurse Manager of Pediatric ICUJob Summary:Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager for the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The Manager for PICU will play a pivotal role in ensuring the department functions align with the mission, vision, values, and goals of the organization. As a registered nurse (RN), the manager will demonstrate critical thinking within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.Key Responsibilities: Ensure patient safety within the PICU clinical practice environment. Utilize effective communication skills and manage information to enhance daily practice. Adhere to ANA Standards of Care and Standards of Professional Practice. Foster partnerships with patients and their families, supporting continuity and coordination of care. Maintain high-quality age and development-specific care for the pediatric population. Drive department-specific initiatives and process improvements. Foster collaborative practice and positive working relationships with the healthcare team. Oversee personnel management, including supervisory positions, payroll, budget, capital, business planning, marketing, and physician relations. Serve as a liaison for the hospital, community, and other institutions. Organize and supervise human and material resources.Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (required) Master's degree in nursing or related field (preferred)Experience: Five (5) years of management experience in an acute care hospital setting, with specialty experience including personnel management, payroll, budgets, capital, business planning, marketing, and physician relations.Licensure: Current Texas RN license or compact license Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider PALS certificationAdditional Notes:The Manager of PICU will undergo individualized training and continuous staff development through the orientation process and competency assessment.This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
