The Opportunity
SANY America is seeking an experienced Parts Category Product Specialist - Maintenance Parts is responsible for managing the Maintenance Parts category (e.g., filters, fluids, belts, seals, batteries, hoses, ground engaging tools and other routine maintenance parts) for heavy equipment throughout their lifecycle, driving category growth, profitability, and competitiveness. This role acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for assigned parts categories and supports sourcing, marketing, pricing, sourcing, inventory planning, and sales enablement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Management Assigned Parts Categories: Filters, Fluids, Hoses, Seals, Belts, Batteries, GET (Ground Engaging Technologies) Own the maintenance schedule alignment and lifecycle management for assigned parts categories. Identify growth opportunities and gaps in the current offering. Manage product introductions, phase-outs, and transitions. Market Analysis & Competitive Benchmarking
Conduct market research to understand preventive maintenance intervals and total cost of ownership concerns, pricing trends, and competitive landscape. Analyze maintenance part consumption rates, PM service packages, and profit contribution to evaluate category performance and identify corrective actions. Pricing & Profitability
Develop and maintain pricing strategies in collaboration with the Pricing or Sales teams. Monitor cost changes and recommend price adjustments to protect margins. Sales Support & Training
Serve as the go-to expert for dealer sales teams, field support reps, and internal parts support staff for assigned parts. Provide product training, feature/benefit comparisons, and usage guidance. Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, logistics, marketing, and sales teams to execute category strategies. Work closely with OEM vendors, aftermarket suppliers, and sourcing teams to manage vendor relationships and supply chain risk. Marketing & Promotions
Lead development of marketing content, maintenance guides, service kits, technical bulletins, and promotional campaigns. Assist in launching new parts and seasonal or strategic promotions. Inventory & Demand Planning
Coordinate with inventory planners to optimize regional warehouse stock levels and reduce obsolescence. Coordinate with Parts Sales to optimize Dealer stock levels Provide forecasts for new products and major campaigns. Typical Skills & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of parts/products and applications (often gained through technical experience). Analytical skills (proficient in Excel and reporting tools). Communication and cross-functional coordination abilities. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience).
