Residuals Analyst
to support our premier client's team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team in
Culver City, CA
at an early, high growth stage and have broad responsibilities including contributing to the end-to-end residual process, working with the production and legal teams to gather required documents, and contributing to special projects. This is a
full-time
position, starting as a
6 month contract
with the potential to extend further.
This role requires a self-starter with knowledge of the five domestic unions' collective bargaining agreements (CBA) along with the Canadian, and other foreign unions CBA's. This role will interact with the business teams as well as physical productions, so it requires good communication skills (oral and written), ability to understand the importance of details, nuances of residuals, and analytical skills. This role will support the Residual's Manager and interacts the Production, Legal, and Accounting teams at the studio. The candidate must thrive in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment, and possess the ability to work across several projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
The Financial Analyst will support the Residuals team by tracking and reviewing union deliverables and establishing the appropriate affiliation by project Update department trackers to align with the current production status of projects Support the distribution team by owning the residual estimate calculation/process for SVOD, Theatrical, and Pay TV productions in worldwide active cycle Respond to inquiries from internal and external business partners Work with the functional leaders and other finance partners to build scalable financial processes and business metrics Test new system requirements and work with the tech team to remedy issues as they arise Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field minimum 4 years of relevant residual work experience Intermediate knowledge of SAG, DGA, WGA, IATSE, and AFM union collective bargaining agreements- actors, writer, directors unions. Guidance in how to calculate payments and stay compliant. Understand calculations. Advanced knowledge of PACT/Equity (UK equivalent of domestic unions) and MEAA union collective bargaining agreements as related to residual calculations Intermediate knowledge of Excel Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced analytical skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment; work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations; strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication Demonstrated ability to build and manage financial models for business partners Advanced excel and analytical skills Experience with SQL Strong interpersonal skills - including written and oral communication skills The ideal candidate will be comfortable with large volumes of complex data and presenting their findings to senior management.
