The Data Scientist (DS) supports inferential and predictive analytics for healthcare operations.

Hybrid role: Candidates must be local or willing to relocate.

Preferred: Experience in healthcare and statistics/data science consulting.

Projects This Role Could be Involved in Within First 6 Months of Hire:

Improving efficiency of surgical operations.

Predicting hospital readmissions for oncology patients and assessing associated interventions.

Updating old production code to align with current standards.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Provide statistical and data science expertise on clinical and system operations quality improvement projects.

Collaborate with healthcare providers and business users to scope out and define project needs.

Craft analysis plans to address project goals.

Procure, validate, and prepare data for analysis.

Fit and evaluate predictive/prescriptive/inferential solutions utilizing industry best practices.

Communicate results and methodology clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Aid in workflow integration and evaluation of project impact

Build and improve sustainable data pipelines.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Strong database programming skills (e.g. SQL)

Strong programming skills in R (preferred) or Python

Familiarity with statistical analysis of both structured and unstructured data

Excellent inter-personal skills

Excellent project management skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects

Qualifications

Qualifications

Required

Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalency.

Two years of experience with data preparation/modeling using SQL and R/Python.

Qualifications (Preferred)

Preferred

Experience working with electronic medical record data from Epic.

Excellent interpersonal and project management skills.

Systems thinking mindset

Experience working with Docker.

Experience with Cognitive Computing and Cogito
