JOB TITLE:
Mechanical QC Inspector (2nd Shift)
REPORTS TO:
Quality Lead Inspector
PAY TYPE:
Hourly / Full Time ($30-$40/hr)
SUMMARY:
The Mechanical Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all production meets customer requirements utilizing a CMM, mechanical measuring instruments and visual inspection. This position is also responsible for detection, identification and segregation of non-conforming material.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):
Read and fully understand engineered blueprints utilizing GD&T to understand dimensional requirements, material, surface finish, etc of the part.
Measures dimensions, such as length, height, depth, diameter and angles using standard and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, height gage, bore gages, profilometer.
Understands how to operate a Zeiss CMM; including setting up a fixture for a part to be inspected, how to load parts in fixture and able to understand the inspection results. (It is to have experience in programing a Zeiss CMM utilizing Calypso software).
Communicates inspection results to engineering in a detail and timely manner.
Utilize the appropriate measuring instrument to perform measurement inspection accurately for the given size, geometry and tolerance.
Complete inspections in an efficient manner to the needs of operators, teams and management to meet production rates and customer delivery date requirements.
Completes First, Last and In-Process Job inspections by completing QC inspection forms.
Constantly monitor documentation for accuracy and completeness
Assume other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality Control
Must know basic quality terms, definitions and concepts.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
A firm knowledge of manual inspection techniques
Must be able to identify and report nonconforming material
Must understand traceability (product, material and calibration).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis
, BUT NOT REQUIRED:
ISO or AS9100 experience
CMM Programing experience (Calypso )
GD&T experience
Machine Shop back ground
