Description

Precon Events is an industry leader in live event production, known for creating emotional, memorable experiences around the world. Our team of Producers, Technical Directors, Project Managers, and Event Gurus brings together world-class talent and cutting-edge technology to deliver exceptional events. We thrive under pressure and are committed to excellence in every facet of event planning and execution.

At the heart of every successful event is a Senior Project Manager, the soul of Team Precon and the glue that holds each project together. This individual manages all aspects of an event's production and technical needs, maintaining composure under pressure while keeping timelines tight and budgets on track. They walk softly but carry a big stick.

Reporting to the Director of Event Operations, the Senior Project Manager leads the execution of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events, ensuring each project aligns with its scope, timeline, and budget. By fostering open communication and collaboration across departments, this individual drives the team toward exceeding client expectations. Acting as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, including clients, Producers, Technical Directors, and Creative Services, the Senior Project Manager takes full ownership of the event from kickoff through completion.

Success in this role requires strong leadership, exceptional management skills, and deep technical and design knowledge of live events. Staying current on industry trends is key, as is the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and teammates alike. Adaptability and quick problem-solving are essential to delivering flawless, high-impact events. This is a remote position with required travel.

Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager Orchestrate all internal and client-facing meetings, ensuring the right people are in the right place at the right time. Build and maintain detailed event timelines, key milestones, and workback schedules using Precon's project management tools. Coordinate and track all deliverables, deadlines, and action items across internal teams, external vendors, and clients. Manage a show team that includes a producer, technical director, designer(s), fabricators, technical vendors, show caller, stage/deck managers, and other internal and external support crew. Manage onsite logistics such as day-of production milestones, security credentials, union labor, crew breaks and meals, dock scheduling, and load-in/out protocol. Provide client Run-of-Show leadership including documentation, pre-show meetings, and rehearsal management, while coordinating technical cue-to-cues with the show caller. Audit rigging, AV gear, and technician labor orders for overall accuracy. Assign tasks, follow up on completion, and keep everyone accountable. Understand the technical ins and outs of live events, from gear lists to AV lingo, and communicate seamlessly with Audio Visual partners. Partner with Precon's Creative Services team to manage client orders for scenic design, video production, motion graphics, voiceovers, and print or digital collateral, bringing big ideas to life. Be the friendly but firm point of contact for clients, ensuring smooth communication and a collaborative planning process. Collaborate with the Producer to stay aligned with the event vision, delight the client, and stay firmly on budget. Work closely with the Technical Director to manage all things tech: CAD drawings, AV needs, labor planning, vendor coordination, and asset wrangling. Develop and refine operational strategies that boost team efficiency, reduce chaos, and maximize the wow-factor. Implement quality control processes to uphold Precon's high standards. Every detail matters. Tackle unexpected curveballs with creativity and calm, keeping the show running no matter what. Support sustainable practices through smart resource and budget management. Participate in pre-event audits and post-event evaluations always looking to learn, improve, and elevate the next event. Keep your finger on the pulse of industry trends and best practices, continuously leveling up your game. Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

7+ years of experience in event management, including 3+ years leading large-scale events. You've been in the trenches for at least 50 shows and lived to tell the tale. Experience with international production is a strong plus, as a global perspective adds valuable depth to our work. An understanding of AV needs for in-person events (lighting, audio, video, the whole show) and the tools required to rock a virtual stage, too. Experience creating client- and internal-facing workback schedules that include event production milestones such as deadlines for digital, print, and scenic fabrication, gear orders, virtual elements, diagrams, and technical decisions. Ninja-level skills in organizing data, timelines, and deliverables. A master multitasker who knows how to single-task when it counts prioritizing like a pro under pressure. Exceptional leadership and team management chops, with a toolkit that includes emotional intelligence, clear delegation, patience, and strong written and verbal communication. A talent for building great relationships with clients, vendors, and teammates alike. Quick on your feet and calm under fire. You solve problems with creativity, adaptability, and grace.

Travel Requirements

This role requires regular travel regionally, across the country and possibly internationally to support meetings, events, and on-site production needs. While most trips are planned, flexibility is key. If you're energized by being where the action is, this is your kind of gig.
