We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle DBA to manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle technologies, with a strong focus on automation, shell scripting, Oracle GoldenGate, and Oracle Data Guard. This role is critical to ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our database systems across development, test, and production environments.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
7+ years of experience as an
Oracle DBA
in enterprise environments. Strong proficiency in
Oracle RAC, ASM, RMAN, and OEM Cloud Control . Proven experience with
Oracle GoldenGate setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Deep understanding of
Oracle Data Guard (physical and logical standby). Advanced
shell scripting skills (Bash, KornShell, etc.)
for automation and monitoring. Familiarity with
Linux/Unix environments
and system-level troubleshooting. Experience with database cloning, refreshes, and migration strategies. Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management best practices. Preferred Qualifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM). Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, AWS RDS for Oracle, Azure). Familiarity with DevOps tools (Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform). Exposure to other RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle databases (11g, 12c, 19c, and newer). Design and implement automation solutions for routine DBA tasks using shell scripting and tools like Ansible or Python. Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery and high availability. Implement and support Oracle GoldenGate for real-time data replication and migration. Perform database tuning, capacity planning, and performance optimization. Manage backup and recovery strategies using RMAN and other tools. Apply patches, upgrades, and security updates in accordance with change management policies. Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to support application deployments and troubleshoot issues. Ensure database security, compliance, and auditing standards are met. Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support for critical systems. Seniority level
