Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including talent acquisition, payroll, compensation and benefits, training and development, employee database management, employee relations and programs, performance management, organization development, workers compensation, leave of absences, and staying current with all federal and state (California) employment laws. Provide guidance, support, and coordination in the consistent and effective application of policies, procedures, and practices of the HR department.

Position Responsibilities Administers group health benefits programs and retirement plans ensuring smooth and timely administration, accurate record-keeping, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Responsibilities involves managing open enrollment administration and employee communications. Acts as a liaison between the Club and external benefit providers and vendors, such as group health insurance and retirement plan providers. Serves as main point of contact for employees and managers on staff benefits Administers all aspects of workers' compensation claims processing and facilitates return-to-work programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Acts as a liaison between employees, insurance companies, medical providers, and legal counsel.Serves as main point of contact for employees and managers on work related injury matters Administers all aspects of the employee leaves process ensuring compliance with relevant laws and Club policies. Responsibilities include processing leave requests, tracking leave balances and health insurance continuation payments, coordinating with various managers, and facilitating return-to-work plans. Serves as main point of contact for employees and managers on leave-related matters Prepares and conducts all state mandated recertification training programs; Responsible for Club-widewith training programs and assists with employee development plans Responsible for certain payroll functions, processing garnishments, 401(k) changesand distributing paychecks and pay statements to staff.Acts as a liaison to Payroll and HR to help problem solve staff requests Assist as backup for payroll processing, check printing, reconciling, etc. Assist in recruitment and selection process including processing and maintaining job postings (external and internal), screening candidates, scheduling candidate interviews, sending conditional offer letters, and process and review pre-employment screenings Administers exit meetings ensuring all separation meetings and documentation are compliant with relevant legal regulations Assist with employee relations including investigation, analysis and adjudication of disciplinary actions, grievances, appeals and complaints, attend related meetings, and ensure all related documentation are detailed, complete and comply with relevant legal regulations Provide front line support to applicants and employees relative to policies, benefits, recruitment, and onboarding and off boarding; Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their questions or concerns Assist Employee Engagement Specialist with programs and Club or department wide employee events Update, create and review job descriptions and ensure consistency among departments Perform administrative work including documentation, sorting and reviewing mail, data entry, maintaining employee HRIS database, reporting, etc. for the Human Resources Department Maintain the integrity and accuracy of HR files, records, and documentation (I-9, medical, confidential, employee file, etc.) to ensure legal compliance Reconcile and process invoices pertaining to the HR department Update, create and review job descriptions to ensure legal compliance and consistency among departments. Report to work regularly and on time, follow directions, take criticism, get along with co-workers and supervisors, treat co-workers, supervisors and members/guests with respect and courtesy, and refrain from abusive, insubordinate and/or violent behavior Ensure work environment is safe and Codes of Safe Practices are adhered to consistently. Report injuries timely Complete various reports assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Chief Financial Officer Attend relevant Human Resource trainings and ensure knowledge of all employment laws and best practices are kept current Performs all other duties as assigned by the employer Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

Must have mobility and range of motion capabilities to frequently operate a computer The employee is frequently required to operate a computer keyboard and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machine, telephone, and computer printer; stand, walk, sit, bend, type, handle materials, or reach with hands and arms performing the essential functions of the classification The duties require sitting for long periods, accessing stored file boxes/cabinets and moving and organizing physical file materials. The employee must occasionally lift and move boxes and equipment unassisted weighing up to 25 pounds throughout the Club Specific vision abilities required by this classification include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus, conduct research and inspect materials. Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing abilities required by this classification includes those which permit the employee to discern verbal instructions, communicate effectively in person, by telephone or electronic mail. While performing the duties of this classification, the employee works in an office setting where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Human Resources Certification preferred Experience

5+ years' experience in related progressive HR experience with solid generalist responsibilities Strong technical proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom is highly preferred) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Proficiency with Canva preferred Skills

Bilingual Spanish (verbal and written skills) is required Strong working knowledge of FMLA/ADA, employment laws and HR best practices Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing, and conflict-resolution skills Highly organized to manage multiple priorities with professionalism, discretion, strong follow-through and attention to detail A high level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and sound judgment Emotionally intelligent, proactive, and comfortable holding others to a high standard A positive, results-driven attitude and a commitment to getting things done with precision
