Job Summary

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist will be responsible for and manage the daily functions of the HR department, including recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, and benefits administration and leaves of absence liaison. As a point of contact for all employees, the HR Generalist will ensure compliance with policies and legal requirements and support the overall HR needs of the organization.

Essential Functions

Recruitment and Hiring Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions Collaborate with hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications Onboarding and Training

Plan and conduct all new hire onboarding in collaboration with hiring managers Build relationships and foster a culture of connection by conducting weekly and monthly check-ins with hiring managers to ensure clarity and encourage continued learning Assist with in-person and virtual training HR Administration

Maintain employee records and data in HR information systems and platforms Generate reports and analyze trends to inform decision making Process paperwork and handle administrative HR related tasks Assist with payroll processing Employee Relations

Assist Director of HR by addressing employee concerns and conduct investigations Facilitate employee disciplinary actions and investigations Provide guidance and support to employees on various HR-related matters Performance Management

Assist with performance evaluations, feedback, and goal setting Compliance

Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies Participate in the development and training of new policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable HR laws and regulations. Benefits Administration

Assist employees with their benefits programs and leave of absence (LOA), including health insurance and retirement plans Miscellaneous

Sensitive and responsive to the cultural differences among the agency's client population Actively participate in quality improvement projects The HR Generalist will take on special projects or additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources and/or the HR Director.

Qualifications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree or higher in human resources, business administration or management, plus suitable employment experience, or training and experience in human resources management. Advanced degree or training in human resource management preferred. At least five years of human resource management experience required Paycom experience preferred

Certifications/Licenses

-Valid CA driver's license

Additional Requirements

-Tuberculosis clearance

-Department of Justice/Fingerprint clearance

-Satisfactory completion of health screening

-Proof of legal eligibility to work in the United States

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the HR Generalist, the employee is frequently required to sit and use their fingers to manipulate a keyboard or writing instrument. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, bend and lift objects greater than 10 pounds.

Travel

The HR Generalist will be required to travel up to 25% to different office locations to conduct HR tasks as needed and required.

Work Environment

The work environment is indoors. The noise level varies from quiet to moderate.
