Northrop Grumman Space Systems Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Staff Engineer Network Network Engineer Lead (24-383) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. As a Network Engineering Lead, the candidate will be at the forefront of network design, helping solve difficult technical problems, leading team members in technical execution, and helping train engineers with less experience. Essential Functions: Must be able to travel to alternate work locations to execute job duties.
Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills.
Must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently on large field projects.
Must have experience leading projects and training individuals on technologies.
Must have managerial and leadership experience.
Applies advanced concepts, theories, and principles.
Works with unusually complex problems with consultative direction.
Will be responsible for decisions that drive critical capabilities and organizational objectives.
Advises top management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
May function in project leadership roles and represent the organization as prime customer contact on significant technical matters.
Responsible for helping junior engineers with tasks if needed.
Coordinating the planning and execution of significant projects.
Identifying a roadmap for Network evolution.
Traveling to remote locations to lead and perform network installations.
Creating, maintaining, and presenting KPIs and other metrics related to the Network Enterprise.
Basic Qualifications: An active Top Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain SCI clearance.
12 years' experience with a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 10 years' experience with a masters degree; or 16 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at
IAT Level II
or higher.
Essential skills required for the position:
Network Design & Development.
Extensive experience with networking protocols.
Troubleshooting expertise.
Planning and supporting the deployment of network infrastructure.
Experience developing KPIs and creating reports.
Preferred Qualifications: Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
JNCP or CCNP Certification is highly desired.
Prior C2BMC experience is desired.
Python and Automation experience is highly preferred.
