Sr. Biology Project Manager

with critical thinking skills and a strong work ethic to join our Northern California team. This position will focus primarily on project work in the Central Valley or Bay Area of California. It would be based in our Roseville or Folsom Office but will mainly be a remote position. HELIX provides biological, CEQA/NEPA, cultural resource management, habitat restoration, regulatory permitting, environmental compliance monitoring, acoustics and noise control, GIS, and air quality and greenhouse gas services to both the public and private sectors. The Senior Biology Project Manager may conduct biological fieldwork occasionally; however, primary responsibilities are not fieldwork-related. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills. Critical aspects include developing solutions for project challenges, building collaborative relationships, and consensus among team members, clients, and agencies. Flexibility and adaptability are essential. Responsibilities: Manage biological resources-related projects of varying size and complexity, requiring expertise in local and regional biological resources and regulations Lead daily project management tasks: client management, team building, scheduling, work delegation, subconsultant coordination, quality assurance, budget tracking, deliverable production, invoicing, contracting, and accounts receivable Prepare due diligence/constraints reports, technical reports (impact analysis, mitigation measures for CEQA/NEPA), survey reports, conservation plan documents, restoration/mitigation plans, and monitoring reports across multiple jurisdictions Lead regulatory permit processes with resource agencies, including Clean Water Act, Fish and Game Code, Endangered Species Act, and others; negotiate mitigation requirements and permit conditions Lead proposals, interviews, and participate in business development Mentor and train less experienced team members

Pay will be based on qualifications and experience, with a starting range of $115,000 to $140,000 annually. HELIX offers a comprehensive benefits package.
