Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Technical Project Manager (Contractor)
to lead and drive key infrastructure and HPC (High-Performance Computing) initiatives within our platform management team. This role involves delivering mission-critical projects that span compute (CPU/GPU), storage, networking, Kubernetes, and datacenter operations across hyperscale and HPC environments.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects. This includes everything from roadmap development to execution, risk management, and process improvement. Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills are critical to success in this high-impact role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead full project lifecycle management for HPC and infrastructure projects—scope, schedule, budget, delivery.
Partner with compute, storage, network, and cloud operations teams to implement scalable, high-performance solutions.
Drive project planning and agile execution using JIRA, Confluence, and other project tools.
Track milestones, manage risk, resolve blockers, and report on progress to leadership.
Deliver clear and strategic communication through PowerPoint and operational artifacts.
Document processes, lead retrospectives, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure alignment of infrastructure projects with business objectives and technical roadmap.
Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years
of experience as a
Technical Project Manager
within
cloud infrastructure ,
datacenter operations , or
HPC
environments.
Strong track record of delivering large-scale, cross-functional infrastructure projects.
Deep understanding of
compute ,
storage ,
networking , and
cloud- technologies
(e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
Expertise with project management tools:
JIRA ,
Confluence ,
Smartsheet .
Experience delivering executive-level reports and presentations using
PowerPoint .
Proven ability to work across technical and non-technical teams to drive alignment.
Experience with process design, documentation, and optimization methodologies.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and resolve conflicts.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with
high-performance compute (HPC)
or
large-scale distributed computing
environments.
Background in
quantitative finance
or
technical research organizations
is a plus.
PMP, Agile, or similar project management certifications ( but not required).
