Job Description Summary The purpose of the position is to provide program management for the UHC's Behavioral Health services (Psychiatry services, Faculty/Staff Assistance Program, and Substance Use Intervention and Treatment program), including the unit's mental health professionals and administrative staff and daily patient flow and operations. This position is also responsible for coordinating with the Director of Behavioral Health Services in the clinical management of the unit and in providing direct clinical care, as needed, for patients of the UHC's Behavioral Health unit.

This position will act as a liaison with other units within the UHC and campus partners within Team Well Being, the Division of Student Affairs, and the University community, related to the provision of mental health services for UMD students, faculty and staff. The position will help develop, coordinate and implement unit policies and procedures, outreach strategies, and educational events to enhance access to mental health services for the UMD community.

Behavioral Health Services is part of the University Health Center and operates under the principle of ONE Health Center. This role will forge close partnerships with other health center units to promote comprehensive, integrated care that addresses the whole patient.

Physical Demands: Physical activity includes sitting at a desk, walking up to 150 feet to offices and records rooms, leaning, bending and light lifting. Potential exposure to communicable disease by virtue of working in a health care facility.

Preferences: Must have 5 years of experience working in a clinical setting

Licenses/ Certifications: Must be licensed by the state of Maryland - LCSW, LCPC, or LCMFT, LCSW-C

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three (3) years of professional health or medical-related program management experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of business acumen to understand key business drivers, organizational communications, and data.

Knowledge of organizational and unit performances measures.

Knowledge of the impact and implications of decisions on leadership objectives.

Skill in oral and written communication.

Skill in data analytics and negotiation.

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products.

Skill in the use of Electronic Health Records systems.

Ability to research information and analyze/synthesize complex data and information to create reports and presentations with valid conclusions derived from various sources.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion.

Ability to develop and administer new policies and procedures.

Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.

Ability to multitask while demonstrating a commitment to customer service and sensitivity to a culturally and ethnically diverse community.

Additional Job Details

Preferences:

At least two years of experience in practice management or administration. Ability to supervise other therapists (e.g., LCSW-C); Some training and/or certification in the area of substance use preferred.
