General Summary

The Home & Gift Customer Service Associate/Merchandiser will assist customers, operate engraving equipment, define and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy for new and existing home & gift product displays. This position is focused mostly within the home & gift department, but includes assisting the rest of the store team with support on an as-needed basis.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Visual Merchandising: Define, design and implement a creative visual merchandising strategy. Create appealing and eye-catching visual displays that lead the customer through the home & gift department. Come up with, revise and present design ideas with General Manager and/or Home & Gift Lead Buyer. Change displays to promote new product launches and reflect festive or seasonal themes. Keep merchandise stocked, fronted and faced, and dusted. Update promotional signage as needed. Perform all other duties as assigned. Customer Service:

Project a positive representation. Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Operate engraving machine & assist customers with designing and completing engraving projects. Assist in maintaining the engraving machine and back stock rooms of the home & gift department. Complete back-up cashier training and assist in clearing customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently. Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively. Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location. Assist in pricing, stocking, marking and bagging of merchandise. Requirements:

Proven work experience as a Visual Merchandiser or Visual Manager. Demonstrable visual design skills with a strong retail merchandising portfolio. Solid experience in field visual merchandising, including interior/exterior displays and space utilization. Knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and best practices. Proficiency in MS Office. Creative and innovative thinker. Ability to analyze sales merchandising reports and survey results. Physical Demands:
