POSITION

SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
QUALIFICATIONS : BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field required. A minimum of 10 years of experience in systems administration. Proficient in VMware vSphere. Working knowledge of storage area networks and the respective hardware and protocols. Familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, PowerCLI and PowerShell DSC. Proficient in using Splunk to archive and analyze log data. Working knowledge of backup & recovery systems such as Veeam and related storage appliances. Skilled in Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems such as Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Entra. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Must be a quick learner, focused and detail oriented. Demonstrated reliability and dependability. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and evaluates Junior Systems Administrators and Systems Administrators as directed by the Chief Information Officer. Administer the district's software-defined datacenter (SDDC):
Administer, analyze, configure and monitor the district's vSphere environment and ensure the highest levels of uptime are achieved. Create and maintain relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Implement datacenter automation technologies:
Utilize tools including, but not limited to, Ansible, PowerCLI, and PowerShell DSC to automate the deployment and configuration of virtual machines within the SDDC environment.
Oversee log archiving, analysis and management:
Ensure that all logs generated from relevant systems are centrally collected within a log repository and are retained in a manner compliant with respective regulations. Develop dashboards to present relevant log and performance data to the respective system administrator.
Administer district directory services:
Oversee the district's Active Directory Domain Services and Entra systems and ensure that objects within the directories are properly maintained and secured. Integrate on premise directory services with Microsoft Entra to guarantee seamless federation of identity for third party cloud services. Utilize synchronization tools such as ClassLink to enforce proper user account lifecycle.
Administer district e-mail services:
Secure email services by deploying technologies such as DKIM, DMARC, etc.
Administer the district's backup and recovery systems (BRS):
Develop a disaster recovery plan and conduct regular trials to ensure successful recovery of systems. Collaborate with department systems administrators to ensure backup windows do not impact user experience. Manage all BRS-related cloud services and hardware/software. Administer e-mail archiving system.
Administer the district's point-of-sale and payment processing systems. Administer the district's storage area network. Continually evaluate new products and tools that can be used to maintain high operational efficiency. Oversee the following district services:
Access control system. Document management. Managed detection & response (MDR) services. Networking monitoring system. Photo ID system. Physical and virtual server infrastructure (Linux & Windows). Public key infrastructure. Video surveillance system.
Perform other duties within the scope of their employment as may be assigned by supervisor or another administrator.
SALARY: $90,000 - $110,000
