JOB SUMMARY :

The Senior Coordinator of Program Operations & Curriculum Design is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of age-appropriate curricula and educational programs for children in the Early Learning Division. This role ensures that the curriculum aligns with Head Start Performance Standards, state and federal regulations, and best practices in early childhood education. The Senior Coordinator collaborates closely with the Child Development Manager to ensure that all children receive high-quality educational experiences that foster their cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Additionally, the Senior Coordinator supervises and provides oversight to the Assistant Coordinator of Program Design, ensuring they effectively support site managers, maintain high program standards, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Serves as a member of the Early Learning senior management team, providing leadership and supervision to the Child Development Manager and the Assistant Coordinator of Program Design, ensuring they have the resources, skills, and guidance to carry out their responsibilities. Oversee program monitoring conducted by the Child Development Manager and the Assistant Coordinator of Program Design to ensure adherence to state & licensing mandates, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and other relevant mandates. Conduct regular site visits to ensure the quality of program implementation is maintained. The Senior Coordinator also leads the assessment of child outcomes, monitors curriculum implementation, and promotes continuous improvement in program quality. Also ensures implementation of a scientifically research-based curriculum. Responsible for the completion of reports for program use, Board of Directors, funders, and approved community requests. Provide support and technical assistance as needed or requested, maintain compliance of classroom and site operations, and ensure professional development opportunities for staff. Assist with managing resources such as staffing, supplies, and enrollment to ensure all sites are properly equipped and staffed to meet program goals. Provide the Assistant Coordinator with support to resolve challenges related to these areas and ensure Site Managers are fully supported in achieving program goals. Assist with strategic planning activities related to the curriculum design and program improvement, including the development of program policies, systems, procedures, and plans. Assists with hiring and training of staff, maintains registry, and professional development plans. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, including local colleges and universities. Also, attend and participate in relevant meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities. Provides ongoing expertise and assistance to program staff, parents, and the community in the development, implementation, and support of quality early childhood education services and program school readiness goals. Perform additional duties as necessary to support the success of the Early Learning Division and ensure the quality and integrity of the program.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

A Master's degree or equivalent in one or more disciplines in the early child education/child development field. At least 5 years of supervisory experience in Early Childhood Education or related field. Knowledge and applied practical use of best practices in early childhood and related practices. Ability to select, develop, and supervise staff, including personnel appraisals. Ability to work effectively with mid-level managers. Effective organizational and time management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills (creating reports, presentations, composing letters). Leadership skills (ability to motivate staff, ability to develop and implement a vision). Good conflict resolution skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage complex issues. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects. Effective training skills and the ability to train others.
