JOB SUMMARY:

Supports the Senior Coordinator of Program Operations and Curriculum Design by providing supervision, oversight, and technical assistance to Site Managers in the monitoring of early learning center operations and professional development. This position ensures compliance with all funding sources, implementation of the Head Start Program Performance Standards, and adhere to local & state mandates. The Assistant Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Site Managers to achieve program goals while maintaining high-quality services for children and families.

CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Works closely with Site Managers, program staff, and community partners to ensure the smooth operation of the center. Support Site Managers in meeting daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual goals aligned with local, state, and federal standards. Provides immediate supervision and support for site issues by addressing center-related concerns promptly and providing on-the-ground support as needed. In coordination with the Senior Coordinator of Program Operations & Curriculum Design, address site issues and needs, including enrollment, staffing, and supplies, to ensure all sites are properly supported. Assist in the implementation of the curriculum and program goals. Ensure adherence to the Head Start Program Performance Standards and state licensing requirements. Monitor center activities to ensure full implementation of education and early childhood development plans, including child health, nutrition, parent engagement, and mental health initiatives. In coordination with the Senior Coordinator of Program Operations & Curriculum Design, conduct site monitoring by performingregular site visits, camera monitoring, file reviews, and classroom observations to ensure ongoing compliance and quality. Actively participate in leadership meetings and collaborate with other members to achieve program goals. While supporting the Site Coordinator, the Assistant Coordinator must demonstrate leadership qualities in managing staff, addressing issues, and making decisions within their scope of responsibility.

Child Development Knowledge: A strong understanding of early childhood development principles is crucial for effectively monitoring classroom activities and supporting children's learning.

Conducts site monitoring by performingregular site visits, camera monitoring, and file Supports hiring and training of new Site Managers:

Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new Site Managers to ensure effective leadership at each site. Monitors completion of job duties and responsibilities:

Support Site Managers in completing their tasks and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner. Evaluates Site Managers' job performance:

Conduct annual evaluations of Site Managers' performance and ensure they are completing staff performance appraisals. Ensures knowledge of safety and personnel policies:

Ensure that Site Managers and staff are knowledgeable about safety standards, accident/incident procedures, and program personnel policies. Conducts monthly team meetings:

Leads monthly meetings with Site Managers to provide updates, share information, and address program needs. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum of 3 years of experience in early childhood education or related field, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. In-depth knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and local/state regulations. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Experience in staff development and performance evaluations. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel to various early learning centers. Ability to engage in physical activities and respond to emergency situations.

For Senior JD:

Provides oversight and technical assistance to Site Managers in monitoring center operations and professional development.

Assists in the development of program policies and procedures:

Contribute to the creation of policies, systems, and plans that ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulations. Facilitates communication between sites and component staff:

Ensure effective written and verbal communication to address operational concerns and share important information.
