POSITION SUMMARY:
Position will provide technical expertise to acquire, investigate, manipulate and analyze data in support of Virginia Farm Bureau's insurance operations. Candidates will research marketplace competitors, develop data-driven strategies, and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports
This position is based out of our beautiful West Creek Office location, 12580 West Creek Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23238.
Office hours: Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, hybrid work schedule is offered
PRIMARY DUTIES Monitor marketplace and competitor class plans using a wide range of data sources and report key findings to management on a regular basis Prepare data calls for regulators and other parties Prepare monthly reports as directed by management Use geodemographic data to prepare growth and profitability strategies Collaborate with actuarial and IS teams Implement internal data process improvement: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, redesign/restructure templates for improved accuracy Other duties as assigned by the department manager and/or director QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree (computer science, math, statistics, finance, or similar preferred) Five years of insurance industry experience in analytics, data, or similar role Ability to articulate ideas in both technical and business friendly language Experience in SQL programming Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills Proven ability to interpret and use statistical data to recommend product improvements Strong mathematical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills Exhibits high level of initiative and creativity
