Company: Position Summary The Talent Acquisition Specialist is a crucial member of the Virginia Farm Bureau Human Resources team, responsible for identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet the organization's evolving staffing needs. This role involves collaborating with hiring managers, developing recruitment strategies, and ensuring a seamless candidate experience from application to onboarding. LOCATION This position offers the ability to work a hybrid schedule, position will be based out beautiful West Creek Office, located at 12580 West Creek Parkway, Richmond, VA 23238. Additionally, this position requires the ability to travel up to 25%, occasionally overnight, as required for recruitment events, and meetings. The Talent Acquisition Specialist must be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, often collaborating with various departments to fulfill staffing needs. POSITION Full time (37.50 hours per week) – with Benefits Hours: 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM, hybrid schedule offered after in-office training PRIMARY DUTIES Develop Recruitment Strategies
: Work closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition & Compensation to create and implement effective recruitment plans that align with organizational goals and culture. Sourcing Candidates
: Utilize a variety of sourcing methods, including online job boards, social media, networking events, and employee referrals, to identify and attract qualified candidates. Screening and Interviewing
: Conduct initial candidate screenings and interviews to assess skills, experience, and cultural fit. Coordinate with hiring managers for further interviews and evaluations. Candidate Experience Management
: Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear communication throughout the hiring process, providing timely feedback, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process. Employer Branding
: Promote the organization as an employer of choice by enhancing the company's online presence, attending career fairs, participating in campus recruitment events at colleges, universities and community colleges within our footprint, and developing meaningful relationships with educational institutions, community organizations, and industry groups. Data Management and Reporting
: Maintain accurate records of all recruiting activities and provide regular reports to HR leadership on the progress of recruitment efforts. Compliance and Best Practices
: Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies. Additional Duties Provide support to the HR Team in relevance to the Fellowship Program All other duties as assigned MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required. At least 3 years’ proven experience managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process is strongly preferred. Internal candidates with at least 3+ years of Virginia Farm Bureau management experience will also be considered. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus MINIMUM SKILL QUALIFICATIONS Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with a strong attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software. Experience creating & implementing sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
