Software Engineering Manager would lead multiple team(s) of software engineers and SDETs to build the Omnicell Device Application Platform and Applications.

Essential Functions

In order to work effectively as a Software Engineering Manager, the position is expected to:

Hire, mentor, and lead by influence, a world-class group of engineers & managers to build a highly engaged cloud platform and applications.

Incubate the culture and values of growth mindset, technical entrepreneurship, design thinking, engineering excellence, data-first approach, and innovation.

Role model for behaviors such as being data-intensive while taking everyday decisions, approaching everyday problems with scientific temperament and rigor, having a customer-first mindset, and maintaining the highest standards for operational excellence.

Interact with global engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the technical roadmap.

Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities, and deliver awesome products.

Work with other technical leaders to ensure our coding practices and deployment processes are scaling and evolving with modern development practices that align with key customers as required.

Required Knowledge & Skills

The successful candidate will have the following skills:

Deep expertise in .NET and REST API development, with a strong foundation in distributed system design.

Extensive experience in Kafka and event-driven architectures, ensuring real-time and scalable data processing.

Advanced proficiency in Kubernetes for managing containerized workloads, ensuring scalability and high availability.

Strong PostgreSQL and SQL database management expertise, including schema design and query optimization.

Solid hands-on experience with Linux OS, shell scripting, and debugging applications in Kubernetes environments.

Proven track record in building large-scale, production-grade software systems.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), including serverless computing, edge computing, and cloud security.

Strong sense of ownership and accountability, best-in-discipline focus on quality, team orientation, design thinking, responsiveness, and innovation.

Passion about your team's vision, mission, and the entrepreneurial drive to make things happen.

Excellent communication and leadership skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years of leadership experience in attracting talent, growing, mentoring talent, and leading engineering teams in a global setting

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

US Healthcare industry experience for inpatient settings is a big plus

Certifications in AWS, Kubernetes (CKA/CKS), or Cloud Architecture

Familiarity with IoT security best practices and compliance standards

Knowledge of modern DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation strategies

Work Conditions

Hybrid - Milpitas, CA

Less than 10% travel

Additional Requirements

Ability to pass background and employment verification checks

Able to work from assigned location without housing or relocation assistance from Omnicell

Base Compensation: $145,602 to $208,003

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education,

experience, and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical,
