Position Summary:Under the leadership of the Assistant Administrator, the Wound Care Clinical Nurse Manager is an active member of the management team that delivers professional wound care services and support that is consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy, and direction of Wound Center/department and CRHS. The Clinical Nurse Manager is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the outpatient wound care clinic, the use of organizational skills, leadership, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing patient care using hospital and nursing standards. The Clinical Nurse Manager is a professional nurse who utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care for people, acute and chronic wounds, drains, tubes, fistulas, pressure ulcers and with fecal and urinary diversions. The Clinical Nurse Manager has an educative role (staff in-services, patient teaching and community education), advocacy role, as well as research and administrative duties. This position works in collaboration with the Program Director and Medical Director to meet the Center's program objectives to help ensure optimal healing outcomes and patient satisfaction.Basic Qualifications:•Education:Requires a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.•Experience:Requires two to five years RN experience in an active clinical setting, preferably working with wound care. Two to five years of supervisory experience in a wound treatment center is preferred.Program development and teaching experience are preferred.•Licensure, Registrations & Certifications:Requires a current State of Georgia professional nursing license.Requires a current CPR Healthcare Provider certification (If CPR verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within the orientation period.)Requires a current certification in Wound Care.•Equipment competence: Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Windows, navigate in a Windows environment, use web browser software and send/receive e-mail via Microsoft Outlook. Must utilize IT applications to deliver and track patient care. Patient lifting equipment.Essential Job Responsibilities:Provides case management to a group of patients providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care/ostomy management.Performs HBO (Hyperbaric Oxygen) related duties as required, upon completion of hyperbaric training.Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities, provides direct care and oversight of other clinical and non-clinical staff. Collaborates with other health care providers, Wound Care Center Providers, Program Director, and Medical Director regarding clinical and patient needs.Assesses consistently current processes and procedures and identifies and implements areas of improvement while adhering to HIPAA, The Joint Commission, DOH as well as hospital and departmental requirements.Collaborates with physician providers and supervisor to achieve wound care center quality indicators and submits reports to Director of Quality quarterly. Collaborates with Program Director and Medical Director to develop, implement, and manage a continuous performance improvement program.Engages in staff development, providing general in services as well as individual instruction and orientation. Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.Collaborates with Program Director in coordination of program objectives, from a budgetary and financial perspective.Develops evidence based, cost effective policies and procedures for the wound care program.Serves as an active participant and member of committees, task forces and special assignments as measured by the ability to arrive to meetings prepared and on time, and provide guidance to key leaders of the organization in this capacityMay function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with facility policy.May perform patient care.May function as a documentation assistant to the provider following requirements listed in policy ID 8609735.Performs other duties as assigned.
