Title: Defect Engineering Manager
Reports to: Electrode Director

Summary:
This role involves managing people, budgets, and projects with the goal of reducing/eliminating debris and foreign objects that affect quality in the production process.
Responsibilities:
Be the technical leader in the plant to ensure world-class cleaning processes and procedures
Communicate with HQ, Korea, and other teams
Communicate with other teams to clarify roles when necessary
Manage equipment/control system engineers to optimize process/equipment interactions
Work with other process areas to identify process interactions
Monitor process data against performance expectations, root cause analysis on the cleaning failures and provide the solving solution.
Prepare detailed reports or design statements, based on results of validation and qualification tests or reviews of procedures and protocols
Review technical documents to plan work
Analyze test or validation data
Prepare detailed work plans
Manage budget
Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
7 to 10+ years of work-related experience
3 to 6+ years of experience leading a team and managing processes
Skills:
Comfort around higher management
Ability to deal with ambiguity and make sound decisions
Effective workflow and process management
Planning skills and effective communication of priorities
Delegation and directing teams to meet goals
Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support entire production team
