Job Summary
As a
Part-Time Assembler , you will support the assembly team by preparing subassemblies that contribute to the upcoming week's production builds. Your role is critical in ensuring the readiness of components and assemblies, allowing full-week operations to run efficiently. You'll perform hands-on assembly tasks using both hand and power tools, following detailed work instructions while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities Assemble truck subassemblies such as frames, axles, powertrains, cabs, electrical, air, and hydraulic systems. Fasten components including doors, seats, instrument panels, and steering assemblies using bolts, screws, clips, and other methods. Install mechanical and electrical components including engines, transmissions, axles, pumps, and wire harnesses. Follow shop orders, blueprints, and instructions to perform tasks with accuracy. Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively. Rotate through various assembly stations as needed. Conduct visual inspections and perform quality checks to ensure assemblies meet specifications. Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives. Operate overhead cranes and apply safe rigging practices (as required). Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all safety protocols Required Skills & Abilities
Math and blueprint reading skills. Must be able to read tape measure. Ability to commit to flexible schedule and prompt arrival for shift. They must be familiar with, set up and be able to operate hand and power tools. Good problem-solving skills. Must be able to participate in Lean principles and continuous improvement activities. Education & Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma. Minimum 1 year work-related experience. Experience in manufacturing environment. Working conditions
Working conditions may include working outside of a climate-controlled environment for long periods of time. PPE is required while on production floors.
Physical requirements
Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50lbs.
