CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Competitive Salary commensurate with experience
Starting wage: $15.64/hour
Competitive Benefits package 260 days, 8 hours paid per day with 30 minute duty free lunch 2 Personal Days, 11 Sick Days Annually Vacation and Paid Holidays Participation in the IMRF Pension System QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma/equivalent Knowledge of Cleaning products/machines a plus Respect confidentiality Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations References must be provided Ability to lift 50 Lbs. Ability to work flexible hours, weekends included CUSTODIAN TASKS:
Complete all tasks and responsibilities as directed by Head Custodian or Director of Operations Cleans and maintains all areas of the school facilities inside and out Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets Ability to follow work schedule and work independently as well as with others to complete task(s) The ability to be flexible as it relates to certain duties and tasks that may arise and require changes to the daily operational schedule Effectively uses time and resources to accomplish work within appropriate deadlines Operate cleaning equipment effectively to complete cleaning tasks efficiently Attend any and all training sessions necessary as required by the director of buildings and grounds Familiarity with emergency situations as follows: Fire drills, tornado drills, code yellows, code reds, etc. Knowledge of securing building; i.e. locking doors, windows, shutting off lights and is aware of who is in the building after hours Remove snow and complete other miscellaneous outside tasks as needed Prepare rooms for various staff meetings per specifications Responsible for the security and privacy of personal belongings and items located in classrooms and various locations throughout the building. Treat confidential materials you may come across or information you may overhear in confidence Promotes a positive professional relationship with students, staff and community Adhere to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality Any additional tasks as assigned by the head custodian or director of buildings and grounds
