Job Summary

The Business Systems Engineer/Analyst is a versatile resource for analyzing business needs and delivering robust technical solutions. This hybrid role requires a blend of business analysis and technical engineering to optimize enterprise systems, streamline workflows, and deliver actionable insights through data visualization. This role will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and IT, ensuring that systems are designed, implemented, and optimized to meet organizational goals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Systems Analysis

Collaborate with IT Manager and other business leaders to understand operational goals and translate them into technology solutions and a roadmap for implementing them.

Conduct gap analysis and define system requirements to identify opportunities for process and systems improvements.

System Management:

Lead or assist in the deployment and maintenance of Epicor, PLM/PDM, CRM, SharePoint systems.

Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches or updates as needed.

Ensure data integrity and consistency across integrated systems.

Design, configure and enhance modules to align with operational needs.

Implement and manage system integrations using API’s, ETL tools and scripting languages.

Process Optimization:

Analyze current workflows and identify areas for process improvement.

Design and implement automated solutions using Epicor to enhance sales, production, projects, inventory control, procurement, warehouse operations, and production scheduling and fulfillment.

Create and maintain Epicor and workflows tailored to business needs

User Support and Training:

Conduct workshops and create documentation to train staff on utilizing business systems effectively

Resolve technical issues promptly.

Develop and update documentation for Epicor processes, SOPs, work instructions, and troubleshooting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Lead cross-functional teams in Epicor technology implementation and process improvement projects.

Partner with external vendors and consultants to integrate new tools or update existing systems.

Data Management and Reporting:

Use Power BI and other tools to create dynamic dashboards, visualizations, and reports.

Perform data audits to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting outputs.

Collaborate with teams to define and monitor KPIs for operational performance

Compliance and Security:

Ensure systems are compliant with regulatory standards.

Implement robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive company data.

Other essential functions

Continually look for ways to improve processes and systems to make them more efficient and effective.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.

7+ years of experience in ERP, Epcior, CADLink, and PDM/PLM a plus.

Proficiency in creating and managing Power BI dashboards and data models.

Strong understanding of engineering, manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Advanced knowledge of SQL databases, report building and system integrations

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication abilities to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.

Familiarity with cloud-based technologies and platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365).
