Description The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a highly skilled Lead Network Solutions Engineer to join our DISA Defense Red Switch Network team. This role supports an enterprise VoIP management system under the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in Network Engineering, responsible for the design, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of IP network solutions in a dynamic environment. As a Lead Network Solutions Engineer, you will be integral to a collaborative team that engages with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and subject matter experts. In this pivotal role, you will establish yourself as a subject matter expert (SME) in IP network technologies, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability of WAN and LAN infrastructures across diverse environments (DEV/TEST and Production). Additionally, you will provide technical support, administer configurations, perform software upgrades, develop and update documentation, ensure adherence to STIGs, conduct testing, recommend improvements, and troubleshoot network issues. Responsibilities: Collaborate with DRSN engineers and site personnel for effective deployment and maintenance activities. Evaluate network requirements and deliver insightful technical recommendations. Demonstrate proficiency with Juniper networking devices by establishing remote management connectivity, performing OS updates, conducting verification tests, and configuring the OSI model layers. Assist Information Assurance (IA) personnel with network security and System Security Plan (SSP) maintenance, ensuring compliance with IA requirements. Perform installation test and acceptance (IT&A) of network components through GUI/CLI or interface systems, and facilitate remote testing with field engineers. Continuously monitor network performance to ensure efficiency and reliability. Provide deployment support as necessary. Exhibit expert knowledge of IP principles. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 10+ years, with consideration for equivalent experience or training. Experience in remote configuration of networking devices. Ability to map IP addresses and subnets, and establish management connections on transport devices. Proficiency in interpreting network topology diagrams and proposed configuration adjustments. Knowledge of HAIPE (KG-175D) configuration, deployment, and support, particularly with GD GemOne. Possession of Security+ certification. Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. Current DoD 8750 certification at IAT Level II, Security +ce. Experience with Juniper IOS or related IP/transport management tools. Basic Linux administration, command-line interface (CLI) skills, and scripting capabilities. Desired Skills: Experience managing configurations using JunOS Space. Expertise in IP technologies and voice services. Familiarity with at least two of the following devices: SONUS SBC, Juniper MX5 routers, Juniper SRX firewalls, Juniper EX switches, KG175. Proficiency with at least one of the following tools: SolarWinds or Junos Space. Possession of JNCIA or JNCIP certification. Knowledge of RADIUS, SNMP, and NTP protocols.
