Client : Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
Location : Austin, TX (Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
Duration : 10/01/2025 - 08/31/2026 (1,984 hours, possible renewal)

Brief Description :
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an experienced Front End/UI Developer to perform application development, maintenance, and support for enterprise web applications within the Social Services Applications team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Angular, UI/UX principles, and web standards, and must be local to Austin, TX.

Responsibilities : Develop and maintain responsive UI components using Angular and other modern frameworks. Enhance and support various Social Services web applications within HHSC's SOA platform. Implement user interfaces with strong attention to ADA compliance and performance. Collaborate in all SDLC phases: requirements, design, development, testing, deployment. Support defect resolution, performance tuning, and production operations. Create and maintain documentation for technical solutions. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and provide input on development standards.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications : 8+ years
in UI/Front End development with Angular or similar frameworks. 8+ years
participating in all SDLC phases. Strong hands-on experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Angular, TypeScript, AJAX, jQuery, Bootstrap, and related libraries. Experience with SPA development, UI authentication/authorization, caching, performance tuning. Experience with ADA/Accessibility compliance and test-driven development (e.g., Karma, Jasmine). Familiarity with version control, build tools (NPM, Maven), and web standards.

Preferred Qualifications : 5+ years
with Spring Boot Java applications. 5+ years
using IBM WebSphere Application Server 8 or later. 5+ years
working in Agile (Scrum) teams. Experience developing for mobile or tablet platforms. Experience with CI/CD and cloud-based web applications.

Work Location and Schedule : Primary Work Location: 1609 Center Creek Dr., Suite 100, Austin, TX 78754. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT. Required Onsite Days: Mondays and Tuesdays. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX. Position is hybrid; remote work is at HHSC discretion. Occasional evening/weekend work may be required and must be pre-approved.
