Software Test Engineer For Mission-Critical Systems

Minotaur is a cutting-edge mission management tool that ingests data from diverse sensors on manned and unmanned surveillance aircraft. It empowers operators across all branches of the military to enhance their ability to identify and track targets from both sea and land. In this dynamic role, you'll be instrumental in testing prototype solutions that address critical military operational shortfalls. Working as part of an established team with a proven track record of fielding highly regarded capabilities, you'll contribute to research, conceptualization, design, implementation, and evaluation. While subject areas may evolve, current projects are focused on improving the exploitation of airborne sensor data through advanced object tracking, multi-sensor correlation, and operational data display. Essential Job Responsibilities: Devise and apply testing procedures for both HII's Minotaur product and from outside vendors. Review software requirements and prepare test scenarios. Participate in design reviews and provide input on requirements, product design, and potential problems. Test creation, development, execution, and closure. Analyze test results on database impacts, errors or bugs, and usability. Perform moderately complex analysis and troubleshooting. Design of both manual and automated test procedures. Prepare reports on all aspects related to software testing carried out and reporting to the design team. Support system integration events on various aircraft during ground/flight tests. Potential to fly on aircraft to support system integration, test, and operator training Willing to travel between 10-20% of the time. Application of the principles, practices, and procedures used in test engineering. Minimum Qualifications: 2 years relevant experience with Bachelor's in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience. 1-2 years experience software testing/development in a Linux command line environment Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a close team environment Must be able to obtain and maintain a US level Secret clearance Preferred Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Software, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline 0 - 2 years experience in:
leading test and test automation teams network communication protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, etc.) scripting in Python, Bash, CSH, etc. Agile software development methodology
