What We Do
The Program Director manages complex programs or multiple projects with interdependencies on an ongoing basis. Responsibilities include project planning, status reporting, risk management, and issue resolution. The role involves strategic planning, defining goals, and assessing how the program impacts the business.
Essential Functions
Supervises a large staff, delegates tasks, manages workflow, and plans staffing. Responsible for salary administration.
Conducts interviews, makes hiring decisions, performs performance reviews, provides feedback, and manages disciplinary actions.
Coaches and mentors staff, offers development opportunities, and communicates roles, responsibilities, goals, and objectives clearly. Meets with team members on performance and goals.
Manages multiple large programs with complex interdependencies independently.
Oversees strategic aspects of programs, ensuring progress and goal attainment.
Participates in creating and revising work plans to meet changing needs.
Develops program deliverables, including roadmaps, plans, scope, and schedules, and establishes governance.
Implements review and quality assurance procedures to ensure profitable and successful program execution and customer satisfaction.
Monitors and controls risks to achieve outcomes on time and within budget.
Communicates program status to stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and activities.

Uses judgment within broad policies to select methods and evaluation criteria.
Erroneous decisions can impact department success.
Supervision & Interaction
Leads a department affecting other departments.
Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters.

Broad knowledge of principles and practices in the field.
Experience with functional tools and infrastructure.

Familiarity with program management methodologies.

Strong MS Office skills.

Experience managing complex program budgets.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; advanced degree or certification preferred.
Typically 10+ years of related experience, with 8+ years in progressive management.
Certifications
PMP desirable.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is $131,800.00 - $175,750.00. This range is an estimate, with actual pay based on factors like experience, skills, and location.
