What We Do The Program Director manages multiple programs or projects with complex interdependencies, overseeing planning, status reporting, risk management, and issue resolution. They work closely with strategy to define goals and understand how these impact the business. Essential Functions Supervises a large staff, delegating tasks, managing workflow, planning staffing, and handling salary administration. Conducts interviews, makes hiring decisions, performs performance reviews, provides feedback, and manages disciplinary actions. Coaches and mentors staff, provides development opportunities, and ensures clear communication of roles, goals, and objectives. Meets with team members on performance and goals. Manages multiple large programs with complex interdependencies independently. Oversees strategic aspects of programs, ensuring progress and goal attainment. Creates and executes work plans, revising as needed to meet changing requirements. Develops program deliverables, including roadmaps, plans, scope, and schedules, and establishes governance. Implements review and quality assurance procedures to ensure profitable and successful program execution and customer satisfaction. Monitors risks to ensure outcomes are achieved on time and within budget. Communicates program status to teams and stakeholders, highlighting risks, issues, and activities. Job Complexities & Impact Exercises significant judgment within broad policies, selecting methods and evaluation criteria. Erroneous decisions can impact overall department success. Supervision Impacts other departments and makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters. Interacts with executives and major customers, often involving negotiation and influencing senior leaders. Typically manages 2-4 mid to high-level exempt direct reports. Knowledge, Skills, and Technology Strategic planning and execution competency. Ability to understand employee needs, drive performance, and allocate resources effectively. Broad knowledge of principles and practices in specialized fields, capable of managing complex projects. Experience with functional tools, infrastructure, and program management methodologies. Proven leadership in multi-location teams and complex project development. Excellent planning, communication, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Strong MS Office skills and leadership abilities. Self-motivated, versatile, and capable of effective communication on current technologies and methodologies. Experience managing complex budgets. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent; advanced degree or certification preferred. Typically 10+ years of related experience, including 8+ years of progressive management. Licenses and Certifications PMP certification desirable. Compensation The pay range for this role is $131,800.00 - $175,750.00.
