Founded in 1978, Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. (Formosa Plastics) is a growing, vertically-integrated supplier of plastic resins and petrochemicals. Formosa Plastics offers a full line of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and polypropylene resins, caustic soda and other petrochemicals that deliver the consistency, performance and quality that customers demand. We market our polypropylene and polyethylene resins under the Formolene® tradename; we market our suspension PVC and specialty (dispersion) PVC resins under the Formolon® tradename. We also produce and sell caustic soda, ethylene dichloride, commercial bleach and hydrochloric acid.

Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

BUSINESS ANALYST

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Analyze business requirements and collaborate with System Analysts and Programmers to design, enhance, or optimize systems. Support the company's competitiveness in marketing, production, operations, and finance by contributing to the achievement of individual and departmental annual goals. Drive operational and cost efficiency through procedure development, process improvement initiatives, performance and financial benchmarking, and the recommendation of best industry practices. Support data integrity and procedural effectiveness by identifying improvement opportunities and collaborating on system enhancements that enable streamlined data processing and effective business operations. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Collaborate with end users and system developers to define software and system functional specifications, ensuring alignment with business requirements. Evaluate work requisitions and collaborate with users and system analysts to recommend improvements or system developments, leveraging business knowledge and professional judgment to assess feasibility within reasonable timeframes. Analyze system-generated exception or abnormal reports and recommend enhanced control mechanisms to streamline business operations. Conduct and analyze QA/QC testing based on system design specifications to verify program execution, identify system bugs or defects, and coordinate correction and reporting. Document system design specifications and business process flows; deliver system training sessions to end users as needed. Participate in the company's "Train-the-Trainer" program during new system implementations, and support knowledge transfer across departments. Design, develop, and generate query reports and business intelligence analysis tools to support data-driven decision-making. Develop and revise corporate procedures and related system SOPs to standardize processes and ensure compliance with internal standards or regulatory requirements. Conduct research and benchmarking studies to propose procedural or system enhancements aimed at improving business efficiency and organizational competitiveness. Assist Internal Audit by contributing to the development or revision of audit checklists and offering feedback on audit findings to ensure alignment with corporate policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Propose and review individual objectives and milestones that align with assigned departmental annual goals. Execute assigned annual goal items according to established milestones, and provide regular updates on progress and results during monthly reviews. Provide business analysis and actionable recommendations to support top management in strategic decision-making. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time. QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of business and/or accounting related work experience required. Experience in or competency of project management. Hands-on experience with system design and data process logic in a typical ERP environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 4-year college degree required. A major in Business, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), or Computer Science related majors, and/or an advanced degree is preferred.
