Dental, Healthcare, Vision & 401k Job Summary Airswift is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join one of our major clients in the energy sector in their cutting-edge
engine testing and fuel research laboratory . This role is ideal for individuals with a background in automotive engine systems, diagnostics, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Technicians will be responsible for operating and maintaining specialized engine test systems used to evaluate the performance of fuels and fuel additives. This is a hands-on role involving automotive engines, vehicles, and control systems in a structured R&D environment. Key Responsibilities
Operate automotive engines and test vehicles per established procedures and safety standards Monitor engine performance and test conditions; make real-time control system adjustments Diagnose issues with engines and equipment; perform necessary repairs or escalations Ensure continuous fuel supply and equipment readiness Maintain logs, data records, and communicate test results with engineering teams Collaborate with team members and shift leads to support seamless testing operations Follow rotating shift schedule (Day, Swing, Grave), including weekends and holidays as scheduled Basic / Required Qualifications
3-5 years of hands-on experience working with
automotive engines or mechanical systems Proven experience in a
technical, mechanical, or laboratory support environment Familiarity with
process control systems
and
engine diagnostics Strong
mechanical aptitude
and troubleshooting skills Good communication and
teamwork capabilities Basic math proficiency (e.g., algebra) Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications
Certification or formal training in
automotive technology ,
electronics , or
control systems Experience working rotating or off-hour
shift schedules Proficiency with
Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, Outlook) ASE certification or similar credentials in automotive maintenance Experience with electronic instrumentation or test lab procedures Shift Details This position follows a
rotating shift schedule , with shift assignments changing every 2-4 months. Candidates must be available for all three: Morning Shift:
5:00 AM - 1:00 PM Swing Shift:
1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Grave Shift:
9:00 PM - 5:00 AM Weekday and weekend rotations apply (e.g., Mon-Fri or Wed-Sun)
