Cloud Engineer
on behalf of our client, a high-impact digital technology organization known for delivering scalable microservices and cloud-native platforms! This is an exciting opportunity to lead observability and monitoring strategy across distributed systems within Azure environments. This full-time, direct-hire role offers a flexible remote/hybrid work arrangement (location dependent) and is available for immediate hire!
Perks Own and evolve observability systems for mission-critical applications in a modern, containerized Azure Kubernetes environment. Collaborate with cross-functional Cloud, DevOps, and Security teams to deliver high-performing, secure, and resilient infrastructure. Competitive compensation $100K - $120K What You Will Be Doing
Architect and maintain end-to-end observability for distributed microservices deployed in
Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) . Build advanced
Splunk
dashboards, alerts, log pipelines, and analytics for real-time system visibility. Integrate
Istio
telemetry (tracing, logging, metrics) into a unified observability framework. Monitor container and workload security using
Twistlock (Prisma Cloud) . Oversee Azure-native services monitoring, including
Cosmos DB, SQL Server, API Management , and virtual networking. Use
Terraform
to manage infrastructure as code, embedding monitoring into deployment workflows. Enhance
Azure DevOps (AzDO)
CI/CD pipelines with observability instrumentation and hooks. Utilize
Azure Chaos Studio
to test system resilience and inform monitoring improvements. Support performance testing through
Karate Labs
and integrate outputs into observability pipelines. Define and track
SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs
in collaboration with development and operations teams. Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts. What You Will Need
5+ years of experience in
DevOps, Cloud Engineering , or
SRE roles
with an emphasis on Azure-based systems. 3+ years of direct experience with
Splunk
in distributed microservices environments. Proven success deploying and monitoring services in
AKS with Istio . Strong hands-on experience with Azure services:
Cosmos DB, SQL Server, API Management , and networking. Proficiency with
Terraform ,
Twistlock (Prisma Cloud) , and
Azure DevOps . Familiarity with
Azure Chaos Studio
and
Karate Labs
for system testing and validation. Strong scripting skills in
PowerShell, Bash, or Python . Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities. Preferred Qualifications
Azure certifications such as
AZ-400, AZ-104, or AZ-305 . Exposure to other observability tools like
Prometheus, Grafana , or
OpenTelemetry . Familiarity with
DevSecOps
practices and secure pipeline integration.
